Ontario, California need not fear the leaker because SERVPRO of NE Ontario/Kaiser will come to the rescue

When the Laundry Machines Walk…

Don’t call the Ghost Squad. SERVPRO® of NE Ontario/Kaiser will explain this and other problems that may end up with water leaks.

If there is water damage, call SERVPRO of NE Ontario/Kaiser any time. We have 24-hour emergency service every day, including weekends and holidays.

Some Reasons Washing Machines Leak

Off balance

If the floor isn’t level, use shims to level the machine. Too-large loads or loads that pack more items on one side of the tub than the other also put the machine off balance. If you hear the machine thump on the floor as it’s going to walk or dance to another room, check the balance.

Even if the washer doesn’t leak, “dancing machine” is not what anyone wants to apply to clothes-washing machines.

Too Much Detergent

Soft water and improved detergents mean that washing machines need less detergent than they needed several years ago. Two tablespoons of detergent is enough for most loads. One way to check whether you’re using too much detergent is to put something from the washer into a tub of water before putting it in the dryer. If the water ends up sudsy, there is too much detergent.

If water, sudsy or not, ends up on the floor or the wall, call SERVPRO of NE Ontario/Kaiser to repair the damage.

Door seals and hinges

Front-load washers may leak if the seals and hinges are damaged or dirty. Manufacturers recommend cleaning them once a week.

Loose or damaged hoses

You might not even need the manual to check for loose-fitting hoses or whether there are rips or other damage. SERVPRO of NE Ontario/Kaiser, however, is a big believer in reading the instructions.

Both front-loading and top-loading washers can have these problems. Check for loose connections whenever there is a leak. If there is water damage from a leak, call SERVPRO of NE Ontario/Kaiser at 909-390-0238.

Problems under the washer

For both top-load and front-load washers, leaks under the washer often mean major repairs. Read the user manual, wince a little bit, and call a repair service.

Water valves or pressure switches

Broken water valves or pressure switches are more likely to result in geysers rather than leaks, and indoor geysers are never good. A large amount of water means a large amount of damage unless SERVPRO of NE Ontario/Kaiser can arrive quickly to remove the water. Call us soon as possible. The sooner you call, the sooner we arrive, and the sooner we arrive, the more damage we can prevent.
